Ganz
Electrical Factory
Ábrahám Ganz, a Swiss immigrant established his foundry in Buda
in 1844, at the present location of the Foundry Museum. In less
than one generation this small factory developed into a significant
heavy-machinery manufacturing plant.

The Location
The area on which the Ganz Electrical Works once stood, the Millenary Park complex
today, played an exceptional part in the development of Budapest for many centuries.
The Reconstruction
The fundamental design concept behind the reconstruction of the Ganz factory
site was that by applying contemporary space design to buildings worth preserving,
the area would become a worthy environment for an events and exhibitions center.
